Weekly Artist #3

This is an image made by Carol Cooper entitled "Only Skin Deep." This kind of art is what she refers to as 'Paintographs,' which are digitally painted photographs that utilize unique textural elements and bright, abstract images to create realistic, yet imaginative pieces of art. She has been working with digital art since 2001. Her paintographs usually consist of still-life images, such as buildings and plants. But I liked this piece for its attention to detail, and ability to stay true to its name by looking like a photograph as well as a painting.
