Museum of Computer Art Artist #1

This is a piece by Elaine Biss, who uses images of Macrophotography and mixes them with different kinds of paints and oils to create her artwork. She typically uses Illustrator CS2, Photoshop CS2, and Corel Painter IX to make these specific creations. Pastels and watercolors are a popular choice with Biss, as can be seen from this piece, entitled “Flower.” The goal that Biss was trying to achieve with this kind of project was seeing beauty in a different and unique form. Her images are mostly close-ups, which may seem simple at first, but given the attention to detail that she pays to the image as an artist, viewers can see that there is more than just simplicity being shown. In “Flower,” though it may be difficult to decipher what you’re looking at, the realistic appearance of the texture on the page provides the viewer with a sight that combines realism with surrealism. On this artwork, Elaine states, “All objects hold beauty, but it’s only when you take a closer look that you realize how deep this beauty goes.”

Hello everyone, my name is Raquel Williams and I am a junior here at Albertus. I started of as a criminal justice major and just recently moved over into business management. I just recently took up photography last December so I am looking forward to this class and everything it has to offer me to perfect my craft.

Hannah Kleffke Short Bio

Hey! My name is Hannah Kleffke and I am a Senior at Albertus Magnus College. I am majoring in English, and I chose this class because of my passion for art. I look forward to starting this Mod so that I can learn how art can be coordinated with technology, and participating in a class that revolves around both.

I love this portrait of the people of Haiti it shows life to me. Its how they live to survive the economy in Haiti by doing what they love to do.  The smile on the guy face in the barber shop shed is so inviting.

This artist Roberto Stephenson was born in Roma, Italy but he also lived in New York, London and now lives in Port au Prince (Haiti).  I feel the artist took this portrait to show part of Haiti's beauty of levels of economics activity remain prominent throughout the city, especially among people selling goods and services on the streets.  Roberto Stephenson use precise shooting and lighting techniques for this portrait and most of his work. 

JP Paul

The artist of this incredible photo is called JP Paul. Paul had a series titled “Compromised”. This series were amazing artworks of 3 woman, which were dealing with potential terminal illnesses. 2 of the 3 survived and gained a new view at life. Before reading the Biography of Paul, I thought that the image I chose was deep. I felt like I connected with this image personally, since times can get overwhelming and life can definitively get tiresome.

Paul expanded this series to other issues such as, modern society’s pressures of perfection and stereotypes. That seems to be a great addition to an already amazing series. Paul used a combination of manipulated photography, Photoshop, and computer based drawings to create this image. He intentionally wanted to layer the image with different effects. The digital part is a huge part of this piece, the computer being the biggest part of manipulating the image, but it also brings his visions to light.

I’m a senior here at AMC - finally!!!! I have a couple more mods and then I will be finished! I’m majoring in finance with a concentration in personal financial planning. I can’t wait to see what this class will do, ultimately it’s a great course from what I’ve read in the syllabus and the blogger.

Christina Seibold- Hope

This artist has taken her passion and beliefs to create a beautiful image. Before reading the Bio to the picture-I thought to my self "wow this would look good in my dinning room" It was eye catching. The artist named this piece hope and that is illustrated as you can depict a heart liked shape and almost an image that looks like a swan, both demonstrating hope. 

The artist used Digital Art - Digital Print On Fine Art Canvas, in her comments she stated she enjoys touching people and the magic of a moment. Its amazing how an artist can take a blank canvas and create art. Its mind blowing how its done on the computer. The colors are well put together and the lines are very clean.
