Week 7 MOCA - Karin Kuhlmann

This piece is from Karin Kuhlmann, it is called Symbiose. It is about of her work called AbstraXness. Her exhibit is composed of "colored" in Photoshop. She prefers the surreal and abstractness of "Automatism" which when I researched the term it was defined as " Performance of actions without conscious thought or intention". How I took this was, she just started to make her art and see what the ending results were. She allowed her mind to take control of it and it what it wanted. Seems like a good approach!
Kuhlmann was born in 1948. She currently works and lives in Verl, Germany. She studied photography and graphic design. Working with firms Bertelsmann and Nobilia.

  1. I'm glad you looked up Automatism... Dada artists in the early 20th century first embraced this technique.
