WE MADE IT!
This picture was the perfect way to end this course and every course we have taken. This is a photo by, Takashi Katayama he is a Japanese artist who was intended to be a painter and photographer. In 1997 he was introduced to computer graphics and that's when he hit it off. He draws his art entirely in Photoshop with a mouse. The reason this photo means so much is no mater what is hitting the figure it still remains up. So never give up and keep pushing forward. Thanks for an exciting course.

Week 8: Russell Streur (MOCA Artist)
Week 8 - MOCA - Björn Dämpfling
Bjorn Dampfling was born in 1949, he currently lives in Berlin, Germany. This artwork is apart of Creative Creatures portfolio. It's one of seven pieces. His work is made up of unique and fertile digital style. It's full of " improbable biological specimens" this can include fish, insects or birds. I tried to research what style fertile means for artwork, but I couldn't find anything in regards to art. Dampfling does not like to copy his work or others, he believes in surprising oneself and people having the freedom of creation.

We Made It Week #8 Artist: Karin Kuhlmann
Karin Kuhlman, born in 1948 lives and works in Verl, Germany. She studied photography and graphic design and has been a commercial artist for many of years. Kuhlmann's said abstract art is one of the glories of algorithmatic art.
Karin Kuhlmann writes, "Since beginning to use the computer as a personal artistic tool in 1996 she tended more and more towards abstraction. Like the surrealists and some abstractionists Karin prefer to utilize 'Automatism' for her creative processes in order to release my inner pictures. She usually generate a series of inspiring and associative shapes on transparent layers and combine them to form subtle arrangements of glowing transparent areas of colors, including the light behind it. She stated that drawing by algorithm depends widely on coincidence. However, generating and selecting of dynamic organic forms, their editing and coloring, is based on what psychologists refer to as 'subjective perception'. Mathematical art is - although it seems to be a contradiction in terms - a very intuitive and individual kind of work."

Mirroring Symmetry assignment
This is the image I made for the last assignment, mirroring symmetry. I thought this was a very fascinating method of manipulating an image and utilizing specific resources to create something like this. There were difficulties towards the end (mainly why it looks so grainy) and I had to use my camera to upload the final image to the blog. But I think the outcome is pretty cool.
Week 8 Artist
For my last artist, I picked Bjorn Dampfling for his strange and creature-oriented artwork. This piece is called "My Beauty," and comes from a handful of techniques, including Fractal Painter, Freehand, a Wacom tablet, and a regular scanner. In fact, I think that's what I like best about his work - not only that this piece is darker and less vibrant than the rest, but that they all share the illusion of being made from crayon, or other simple sketch techniques. I like that he uses relatively simple methods to create original, strange, and abstract art.
Line Rider Assignment
https://youtu.be/XiZxiighcUQHere is my video of Line Rider. It was originally much longer and more elaborate, but due to technical difficulties, this was all I could salvage. It was a fun little assignment, and fun website! I managed to stop him from crashing by just slowing down the course.

Week 7 - Bomomo
This was my favorite of this week. Playing with the different instruments to make lines. I have a couple of different versions but this was the best! I went with a basic white background and allow the change of colors to add the warm tones with hints of brighter tones and dark tones.
Week 7 - Weave Silk
This was a bit harder for me to create something smooth, this was my 8th try. I wanted smoother lines, I even tried on my iPad Pro pen and I couldn't make it smoother. I tried!
Bomomo Image
Here is what I created on bomomo.com. I chose a lined salmon-colored background with a silky, ridged effect on the lines covering it. I love the contrast between the different shades of green, white, and lavender against the reds and yellows. I wanted to create something simple yet pleasing, and just a little chaotic. I feel the color choices and textures aid in doing that.
Silk Image
This was made on the WeaveSilk.com website. I loved being able to use different colors while the specific texture of the site remained the same. While simple, it added for a lot of stylish control and manipulation, which I enjoyed being able to use many colors for. It's a very soothing form of art.
Pasta Heaven image
After taking a few photos using the snipping tool, this image from Pasta Heaven is probably my favorite. It's a strange website, but it allows for a lot of artistic possibility and opportunity. I love the subtle texture of the noodles and the color composition. The darkness of the blue and heat of the red really add a nice, stylistic touch.
Kaleidoscope Painter Week 7 images
These are the images I made using the Kaleidoscope Painter website. I had a lot of fun creating these images and exploring the different variations of color and style. I wanted to give the first two a sunny and bright exposition, as the first one's colors reminded me of the peace sign, and the second one reminded me of a church window. The last two I wanted to go in a darker direction, and I liked that the third reminded me of a sharpened spider web, while the last looked more like the depths of the ocean with its blues and grays. I really enjoyed working with these variations, and I hope to find an artistic excuse to use this website again.

Week 7 Artist
My Week 7 Artist is Lisle Drake, who has been working with computer art since 1985. This piece is called "Magic Carpet Ride," and it was made with a variation of Photoshop, Painter and Illustrator, and a Wacom tablet. I loved this piece for its child-like and illustrative technique, appearing both surreal and cartoon-ish to the viewer. This is a kind of art I've never seen before, and while it seems creepy and/or strange, its style is truly captivating to me.
Week 7 MOCA - Karin Kuhlmann
This piece is from Karin Kuhlmann, it is called Symbiose. It is about of her work called AbstraXness. Her exhibit is composed of "colored" in Photoshop. She prefers the surreal and abstractness of "Automatism" which when I researched the term it was defined as " Performance of actions without conscious thought or intention". How I took this was, she just started to make her art and see what the ending results were. She allowed her mind to take control of it and it what it wanted. Seems like a good approach!
Kuhlmann was born in 1948. She currently works and lives in Verl, Germany. She studied photography and graphic design. Working with firms Bertelsmann and Nobilia.

Kaliedescope Painter Week 7
The Kaliedescope Painter was fun to work with, I preferred working with the brighter colors and began by spanning in and out and then proceeded to do circular motions all the way to the bulls eye. My favorite was the turquoise, purple and blue painting.

Week 6 -Peter Mc Lane Venice
This picture bring out all the heart and soul of Venice. Peter Mc Lane born in Chamonix France. He was never really an artist his first was music. He discovered the program "Painter" and his love for digital art grew. He feels as though his work cannot be compared to anyone else's.
He says in
English, "My work is only through my imagination,
no scanned images, only a white screen and using the stylus
and a Wacom Tablet like a painter."

Week 6 - MOCA - Andrew Cole
Andrew Cole's chess piece work caught my eye. He uses Corel Draw for most of his work. Corel Draw is a graphic illustration and technical software. He had about 12 pieces which were snapshots of chess games. My son said this looks like his K'nex games. Which is true, they do look very similar. At first this didn't look like a chess game but now as I stare at it, I can see it. He does not offer a website, but offers feedback to his email address.
Week 6 - Line Track
Here is my Line Track- this was fun for me and my 5 year old son to play around with. He and
I tried many different ways to be creative!

Fractal Image
Here is the image I created using the Fractal program. I really liked this pattern, and I changed the color scheme to make it look brighter and more contrasting. I then turned it at a 90 degree angle to give it a more interesting and majestic look. I think my favorite aspect about it is how the dark blue and black appear as such a contrast against the yellow and orange of the background.
Week 7: Adam Harvey (MOCA Artist)
Adam Harvey is a web designer and photographer who calls New
York his home. He studied at the University of Pennsylvania where he studied
Integrative Arts. He uses an method that involved him going through his spam
email to create provocative imagery for this particular series which is
entitled SAVE AS.
Week 7: Weave Silk
Although the kaleidoscope project gave us a chance to creative
with the templates and tools, I found Weave Silk to be a little more enjoyable
to work with. The patterns and directions that the program takes you is limitless
the possibilities for project are immense. This is truly a program that I will continue
to use.
Week 7: Kaliedescope Painter
This week brought more fun and amazing techniques that we
used to create some very interesting pieces. The kaleidoscope painter program
was perfect in helping us to display these techniques by coming up with
creative ways to use the tools provided.

Week 6 Artist
This picture is entitled "Structure," and was created by award-winning artist Skydancer. Her computer art consists of Bryce, Painter, Photoshop, Poser, and XenoDream. She creates these images using these websites, which she then processes through Photoshop to create the final product. I liked this image best for its attention to the clarity of the sky and the water, and the confusion that brings them together in the center piece.

Week 6: Anima Somnia (MOCA Artist)
Always showing her unreal and dark side, Anima Somnia, is an
awesome digital artist. Her twisted fantasy style mixed with he gothic
imagination make for a truly interesting artist. She utilizes photos that she progresses
into majestic pieces. It's unclear of her technique, but she has proven to be a master of her craft.
